The 905T driver is packed with innovative new features designed to improve launch condition, ball flight and playability, and also features an innovative multi-material design. Most significantly a new lightweight aluminium hosel enables weight to be redistributed to position the centre of gravity lower and closer to the face. ping g15The new 905T driver also features a two-piece face utilising thin beta titanium face insert technology titleist supported by a uniformly thin face flange, which generates higher ball speed and greater accuracy on callaway x22off-centre hits. The head shape retains the 'true pear profile', widely accepted by many accomplished players and that has become 's signature head profile. The 905T driver has a slightly shallower but wider face than the 905S delivering more dynamic loft, a higher launch angle and lower spin compared to the prior model AP2and is suited to all serious golfers seeking low-moderate spin with optimum playability. Although slightly bigger then their predecessors at 400cc, the 905T driver retains the traditional square face angle preferred by the target market.callaway x22The 905T driver is everything you would expect from a driver. It looks great at address with a classy finish. Unlike some other titanium drivers the sound and feel is solid rather than loud and brash. Whether this gives the impression it does not go as far as other drivers, we're not sure. It problably wasn't out and out longer, but it wasn't short either. The ball flight was very good with a penetrating trajectory and good forgiveness across the face. Overall a classy club and worth a swing.
The 755 irons integrate contemporary design elements into the Tour-proven, 700 series platform for greater performance and improved AP2playability. The titleist 755 irons utilize a thinner face design as weight is removed from the face to increase cavity volume. Discretionary weight is then redistributed to create enhanced heel-toe weighting for a higher moment of inertia, superior playability and forgiveness. Superior feel and shock absorption are achieved by incorporating a forged aluminium dampener chip into the cavity. The dampener chip filters out unwanted vibration for a soft, solid feel and outstanding shot feedback. The strong, lightweight, T-6 6061 insert reinforces the thin face for greater strength and durability. AP2
The 755 irons feature a slightly lower CG position for an easy initial launch and a medium-high flight for excellent control and manoeuvrability. Dual hosel lengths and a high-performance sole manage trajectory and provide predictable performance from a variety of turf conditions. Crafted from 410 stainless steel ping g15utilizing a precise, multi-step forging and CNC milling process, the new forged 755 irons provide the soft feel, aesthetics and shot-making capabilities better players’ demand. callaway x22
The 755 irons are ideal for the mid to low handicapper because they provide great feel combined with forgiveness. The forged heads combined with the vibration dampener really do give the feeling of effortless hitting. The heads look a nice size at address giving you lots of confidence throughout the set. On the downside, we found that the trajectory was a little on the high side for our tastes, but overall a very good club.If inanimate objects could feel pressure, the NXT Tour and NXT Extreme would know the heat is on. That's because they've replaced the NXT Tour and NXT models that accounted for the third- and fifth-largest market shares, respectively, titleist among balls selling for $20-plus per dozen. (Only the Pro V1, Pro V1x and DT SoLo loom larger on the shelves.)
We put the new (and old) balls to our exclusive robot test and found the new NXT series has a slightly higher flight, it provides a slight bump in carry distance and for NXT Tour more spin with the sand wedge than its predecessor. 's new stainless-steel DCI 990 is a high-performance, traditional-size, cavity-back iron with a thin top line and a variable muscleback, or weight pad, in the bottom two-thirds of the back cavity.
Head-to-head, the new NXT Extreme is longer off the driver than new NXT Tour; the two new balls perform similarly with the 8-iron; and NXT Tour offers 3,500 rpm more backspin off a full sandwedge shot.
The short irons are designed to provide a flatter trajectory. Suggested retail price is $110 per iron.
Ping's two new irons are the i3 Blade (shown) and the i3 O- Size. The i3 O-Size is slightly larger with more offset, similar to the Eye2.
The i3 Blade has less offset and is for better players. Suggested retail price is $110 per iron (1-9, four wedges available).
